New Zealand-born actor Aaron Jeffery is probably best known to Kiwi and Australian television viewers as larrikin farmer Alex Ryan in McLeod’s Daughters.

Aaron has starred in seven series of the hit Aussie drama series and twice won the Silver Logie (Australian television award as voted by readers of TV Week) for Most Popular Actor, most recently at the 2007 TV Week Logie Awards.

A graduate of Sydney’s National Institute of Dramatic Art, Aaron’s previous television credits include an ongoing guest role in Water Rats as well as Murder Call, Wildside, Blue Murder and Fire. He’s also appeared on the big screen in the romantic comedy Strange Planet and crime thriller The Interview.

Aaron’s theatre credits include the role of Alex in the Sydney Theatre Company’s 2004 performance of A Clockwork Orange, as well as Fred, Love for Love and The Crucible - all with the STC. He has also appeared on stage in Elegies and Bouncers, both staged by Threshold Productions, a company Aaron co-founded in 1995.

Having lived and worked in Australia for nearly 20 years, Aaron was very keen to come back to New Zealand to work and Outrageous Fortune provided just the right opportunity after he finished his long-running stint on McLeod’s Daughters.

He now splits his time between Auckland and Sydney where he visits his daughter, Ella Blu (born 2003).

In 2009, Aaron had a role as Wolverines father in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
